75107: Jango Fett review

Its a lovely sunny Saturday here in Sheffield, oh wait no it’s not, it is pouring down with rain. This gives me a chance to review of of the new Star Wars battle figures that was released last week. The one I have picked up is Jango Fett, the other two I like are Darth Vader and General Grievous but those two are the more expensive of the first wave, the rest don’t offer the same appeal the human heads just don’t look right IMO.

However I do think Jango is a perfect fit for the new range.

So I will be honest I am not a fan of Bionicle yet for some reason I liked the Super Hero Ultrabuilds and have Iron Man and I also liked the Legends of Chima ones. So when I first saw these I was drawn to them. The packaging is just like the Super Hero ones with the dimensions 14.1 x 26.2 x 4.8 cm. The instructions come in a small A5 size booklet The build is spread over 30 pages in 32 major steps, with the back of the booklet taken up with parts list and advertsing of the other characters in this sub theme and other Star Wars sets for 2015.

The set comes comes with 85 pieces and no stickers so that means plenty of printed elements however because the are ultrabuilds it limits what you can do with them, his body, head and two thighs are new to this set as is the 2 silver Leg Shell W.Ball Snap and Shoulder Shell W.3.20 Connector for his lower legs.

The build for adults is a 10 minute job at best with each step in the booklet telling you parts required to simply it even more. You don’t buy these for the build factor but the playability factor is awesome. It was interesting for me to see how it came together as don’t build these very often and took me a while to get him to pose right. I can imagine the appeal to younger fans as he is almost like an action figure and from my limited Star Wars knowledge he is detail is very much spot on to how we see him in the movies.

I think this is a must for either fans of Star Wars who like their action figures and also fans of the Ultrabuilds. However if you like an interesting build stick to the LEGO system sets as this has very limited build enjoyment. I hope we seem more from the Star Wars universe appear in this form such as C-3PO, Bobba Fett and a classic Storm Trooper.

Have you bought one yet if so tell us your thoughts on the new buildable figures. Jango Fett can be bough from all good retailers including LEGO and Amazon
