Website Information

Brick Fanatics has been going since 2011 and since that time we have gone through 4 different themes. As the site continues to grow we have found that the current theme no longer works for us and with the people using tablets and mobile to browse the internet we need a more responsive theme that looks the same and offers the same functions no matter what you are using to browse the site one.

I have been thinking of a theme change since the backend of last year and spoke to the other staff and also invite a few regular users to offer their views. So  the plan is to swap themes shortly. Last time we decided to build a new wordpress powered site from scratch and import content, those of you will remember the backup we had was corrupt and as such we lost all posts pre-2013. This time we are going to go offline probably for a day and switch the theme over on the current site.

This issue with doing it this way will be images and some old shortcodes will no longer work. So old posts will need editing and reformatting to fit in with the new theme. The good news is we won’t lose any content and the change over should not require much downtime. So we will continue to post daily and at same time we will work backwards through old articles to bring them into line with the new look.

When we decided to make the switch we will use our social accounts to keep you all updated as to how things are progressing etc. Please feel free to ask us questions and post what you would like to see from our new theme and we will do our best to put them. While the change over happens you will notice certain features, images missing etc this is to make the change over easier.

Thanks for your support
