WHSmith now selling LEGO polybags!!

whsmith polybag

Some massive news for you this morning for you, my contact has informed me that not only is their the polybag promotion starting this weekend but also WHSmith have now started selling LEGO Polybags priced at £2.99 and we have photo evidence to back this up. While I can’t confirm 100% if all stores will be selling polybags but I think it is safe to say all the larger stores will be selling them.

Currently they will be selling the following sets 30230-1: Mini Mech30231-1: Space Insectoid30221-1: Fire Car30150-1: Racing Car30224-1: Ride on Lawn Mower30225-1: Coast Guard Seaplane30242-1: Republic Frigate30254-1: Razcal’s Double-Crosser. I’m not sure what 30321 is but the rest besides 30224 are all new this years. I will be heading to my local store later to see if they are in the Sheffield stores.

This is fantastic news for UK AFOL’s as we can now get hold of polybags that would have cost us more to get hold of via Bricklink, eBay etc. some of these sets have not been seen in the wild any where in world.

Update – it’s not 30321 it’s 30231 which is a Galaxy Squad Space Insectoid Mini Build. It’s also worth noting they are listed by WHSmith as LEGO Mini Builds S1 (series 1) which would suggest other polybags or Mini Builds could be released in this way in the future.

Cool. I’ll keep an eye out for the mini-mech and the Chima one for my kid.

Most stores should have them on sale on Saturday.

Just been to Trafford Centre – and they have them in stock at WHSmiths.
They come in a similar box to the minifigures.
Fits in the same cardboard display and so where in there with the figures at the till.

They are all very nice looking and seem to have plenty of parts for Poly Bags. All worth picking up I thought.

Nice Sheffield City Centre staff are clueless, hoping for better look tomorrow at Meadowhall.

I like this idea, in preference to just the minifigures, lets hope Lego continues this idea.
